Project Overview
SME overdraft relied on cheque-based process
Challenge: Secure digital transfer up to 10M THB
Built real-time overdraft execution model
Multi-user authorization support
Structural Gap
• Existing core banking app did not fit SME behavior
• Daily transfer limit (~2M THB)
• Large payments required cashier’s checks
• Additional fees and clearing delays
• Traditional OD model not aligned with digital business needs
Strategic Shift
• Developed a dedicated Digital OD app for SME
• Instant transfers from overdraft credit line
• Supported high-value transfers up to 10M THB
• Real-time interest calculation
• Multi-user authorization (Phase 2)
Design Principles
• Financial Clarity: Clear visibility of limit and interest impact
• High-Value Confidence: Secure and reassuring large transfers
• SME-Centric Flow: Faster than traditional check-based OD
• Scalable Design: Multi-role and multi-account support
Legacy Problem
Manual BPA dependency
No real-time overdraft visibility
Fragmented onboarding & request flows

Core Constraint Mapping
Reused secure authentication (PIN / Face ID / OTP)
Mapped compliance & fraud checkpoints
Designed within infrastructure constraints

High-Value Split Transaction
2M+ THB digital split workflow
Staged verification: PIN → Face → Final confirm
Failure handling & audit trail
For SMEs, large-sum transfers and business expenses are critical. The design incorporates clear alerts at each transaction stage, while maintaining ease of use as a key principle throughout the process.
eKYC Risk Tradeoff
NDID explored but rejected due to fraud risk
Proposed tier-based credit limit
Security > friction for high-limit credit
Idea to propose : Tier-Based
Credit limit ≤ 200,000 → NDID allowed
Credit limit > 200,000 → Dip chip required

Designing Within Limitations
Privacy risk in chat-style notifications
Added authentication layer before reveal
Controlled disclosure to reduce cognitive overload
Clear balance notifications displayed on the home screen (visible only after authentication), ensuring transparency in account activity and encouraging users to regularly review their finances.
Token-Driven Architecture
Reusable component model
Reduced design-dev discrepancies
account card component

Note : Simplified design token structure recreated for portfolio. Sensitive naming removed.

Overdraft users can clearly view their remaining balance and interest tier details, enabling better financial awareness and decision-making.
Usability Testing
SUS: 77 (Above industry average)
Task completion: 75%
Enabled digital transfer up to 10M THB
Reduced operational dependency on manual cheques
Impact & Learning
Product Impact
Digitized high-value SME payments (up to 10M THB) previously handled via physical cheques
Enabled split transaction capability to reduce transfer limits and approval bottlenecks
Reduced operational dependency on manual cheque processing
UX Impact
Increased user confidence when replacing cheque-based workflows with digital transactions
Improved clarity in complex transaction grouping
Key Learnings
Bulk financial actions require strong error-prevention design
Designing transaction architecture early reduces scalability issues late
