Intro & background

The Challenge: While our current app, Alpha by Thai Credit, serves general banking needs, our SME and Corporate clients still face hurdles with high-value transactions. Traditional daily transfer limits and the manual process of issuing cashier’s checks for large amounts create significant friction in business operations.



Our Solution: We are developing a dedicated application for SME customers to transform the Overdraft (OD) experience into a fully digital workflow. This app enables seamless high-value transfers of up to THB 10 million per day, significantly higher than the standard THB 2 million limit.

Problem

Application flow

Phase 1 (Individual): Successfully rolled out for individual users earlier this year, focusing on seamless Onboarding, Account Overviews, and Core Transactions.


Phase 2 (Juristic): Currently developing Corporate features, including multi-level User Authorization and seamless Account Swapping between personal and business profiles.

Design Prototype

Balance Notification

Clear balance notifications displayed on the home screen (visible only after authentication), ensuring transparency in account activity and encouraging users to regularly review their finances.

Account Inquiry

Overdraft users can clearly view their remaining balance and interest tier details, enabling better financial awareness and decision-making.

Split Transfer

For SMEs, large-sum transfers and business expenses are critical. The design incorporates clear alerts at each transaction stage, while maintaining ease of use as a key principle throughout the process.

Usability Testing

We conducted both face-to-face usability testing and remote testing via Maze.com. Overall, the results were positive — users of the Overdraft account were able to clearly understand the account information and perform inter-account transfers without friction. In addition, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and a System Usability Scale (SUS) score projection were applied as standardized benchmarks to evaluate the user experience.

KeyTakeaway

I had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with banking systems and the security standards required for financial transactions and identity verification across different stages of the process. In addition, I worked on developing a design system that integrates tokens to enable scalability across the entire organization, while also collaborating closely with various departments within the bank.
